New York’s Burn Ban Goes Into Effect March 16th

In an effort to prevent wildfires, the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation will be putting a ban on open burning beginning March 16th through May 14th.

During this time it is illegal to burn brush, leaves and other items outdoors. Small campfires are permitted however “celebratory or ceremonial bonfires” are not.
