Addison Woman Killed In Crash Involving A School Bus

On Wednesday morning around 7:45 a.m., the New York State Police responded to State Route 417 in the town of Erwin for a report of a serious accident involving an Addison Central School District Bus.

Police say a vehicle driven by 23 year old Kayanna Lehman was traveling eastbound on Route 417,  and for an unknown reason, crossed over into the westbound lane striking the Addison School Bus head on. Lehman was killed in the crash.

The driver of the school bus and the ten students on board the school bus were determined to be uninjured by EMS personnel on scene, but were transported to Corning Guthrie Hospital for further evaluation.

State Route 417 was closed for several hours during the investigation and police have not yet determined what caused Lehman’s car to veer out of her lane.
