Three Charged In Connection To Tuesday Morning Robberies In Elmira

Police have arrested three people in connection to two robberies that took place yesterday morning in the city of Elmira.

According to Elmira Police Department, at approximately 1130 Tuesday morning officers responded to the area of Parker Drive and Harper Street for a report of a robbery.  At time of dispatch the victim was reportedly knocked to the ground by three subjects and had property taken from him.  Responding officers obtained a description and established a perimeter in an attempt to locate the suspects.

While responding to this incident, responding units located a second victim in Burger King parking lot on Lake Street, who reported the same type incident involving suspects dressed similarly to the Harper Street incident.  These incidents were reported occurring within several minutes of another.

Neither victim reports being injured, no weapons were displayed and/or threatened and both victims are cooperating with the investigation.

On Tuesday evening police located three suspects and charged them with Robbery in the Second Degree. Police say the first is a 13 year old male from Elmira. He was processed and released to the custody of his parents. The second is a 16 year old male from Freeville. He was processed and released to the custody of the William George Agency for Children’s Services in Tompkins County. The third person, a 17 year old male from Elmira, was processed and held for arraignment.

Police say they will not be releasing any further details about the subjects’ identities.
