Three Elmira men were arrested after a traffic stop in the City of Elmira.
Wednesday morning at approximately 12:12 a.m. an Elmira Police Department Officer performed a traffic stop of a vehicle on West Hudson St. in the City of Elmira for a traffic infraction. The vehicle contained three occupants.
During the traffic stop investigation the officer detected the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle and observed an amount of marijuana in plain view within the vehicle. Upon further investigation officers recovered two loaded handguns within the vehicle which were not legally possessed by the occupants
Due to the results of the investigation the Elmira Police Department charged 36 year old Sharell E. Brooks, 33 year old Jamar A. Brooks, and 18 year old Dominique Brooks-Jenkins, all of Elmira with two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd, a Class C Felony.
Both Sharell E. Brooks and Jamar A. Brooks were also charged with Unlawful Possession of Marijuana, a violation.
